Yassi Pressman on Retrenchment of ABS-CBN Workers
YASSI PRESSMAN – Actress Yassi Pressman joined other artists who expressed sadness for ABS-CBN workers who will get affected by the retrenchment program.
Kapamilya actress Yassi Pressman is one of the casts of the top-rated show ‘FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.’ She plays the role of Alyana, the love interest of Cardo Dalisay.
Last March, the tv network stopped the taping of the hit series due to the coronavirus pandemic. On May 5, the company was forced to stop operation in compliance with the National Telecommunications Commission’s closure order after the company’s franchise expired on May 4.
Coco Martin faced criticism after speaking up against the government. In a report, Yassi Pressman expressed her support for her on-screen partner amid his issues.
The executives of the tv network recently announced that they will be laying off workers starting August 31. Days after the announcement, the supporters and employees of the network staged a motorcade and noise barrage that passed through several cities in Manila. Actress Angel Locsin urged her fellow artist to speak out on the issue.

In a post on her Instagram account last July 19, Yassi Pressman said her heart breaks for employees laid off from work after ABS-CBN’s franchise bid was denied. She said, “Paano na kami? Pero mas… Paano na sila? ‘Yan ang tanong na ulit-ulit kong tinatanong sa sarili ko matapos naming lahat mapanuod ang pagpatay sa network namin.”
“Umiiyak kaming lahat, nag-aalala kaming lahat, nawalan kaming lahat… Hindi man ako makapunta kagabi, sa dasal, sa puso at sa isip ko kasama ko po kayo.” she added.
