Former DFA Perfecto Yasay Jr’s Wife Reveaks His Cause of Death

PERFECTO YASAY JR – Cecil Yasay revealed the cause of death of the former Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary.

Recently, the wife of former Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary Perfecto Yasay Jr. broke out a sad news about him. Cecil Yasay confirmed that her husband died early today, June 12.

The former Foreign Affairs Secretary has served the Department from June 2016 to March 2017. However, he faced allegations regarding his citizenship and decided to fly abroad.

Before he became the secretary of DFA, Yasay was with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). He served as the chairman of SEC from 1995 to 2000.

Today, June 12, Perfecto Yasay Jr.’s wife Cecil confirmed that he died at 7:26 in the morning. Based on a report on Manila Bulletin, the wife of the former Foreign Affairs Secretary clarified that his cause of death is pneumonia and not COVID-19.

Currently, the Philippines is on a crisis due to coronavirus or COVID-19. The Department of Health (DOH) has recorded 24,175 cases of the disease in the country; 1,036 deaths; and 5,165 recoveries.

According to the report, the wife of former DFA Sec. Perfecto Yasay Jr., pneumonia which is the cause of his death is due to “the recurrence of his cancer”.

A lot of people have expressed their grief and sadness over the passing of the former Foreign Affairs Secretary. The United Church of Christ in the Philippines (UCCP) has also confirmed his death.

Yasay is the chairman of the Philippine Christian University (PCU) Board of Trustees. It is affiliated with the UCCP.
