Ping Lacson continues to fire back at Alan Peter Cayetano
Senator Ping Lacson revealed that Lino Cayetano, the brother of Senator Alan Peter Cayetano, is willing to assist in the investigation into allegedly anomalous infrastructure projects in Taguig City.
A tension occurred between Lacson and Cayetano that circulated around some corruption accusations.
Cayetano questioned a sharp increase in Lacson’s net worth, claiming it doubled. Lacson stressed that he is not a corrupt politician. The former police chief quickly clapped back, clarifying that his wealth actually quadrupled from 2022 to 2025.
Lacson stressed that after 2022, during his break from the political scene, he had real estate ventures and businesses. He retaliated and accused Cayetano of packing the 2025 General Appropriations Act (GAA) with ₱6.79 billion worth of pork-barrel-like budget insertions.
Lacson also claimed that 68 out of 70 of these infrastructure projects, heavily situated in Taguig City, Cayetano’s bailiwick, were “ghost projects”. He added that Cayetano has “crossed the line” by attacking his integrity.
Based on the report from Bandera, according to Sen. Ping Lacson, individuals said that Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano’s younger brother wished to speak with him regarding the city’s infrastructure projects.
Lino Cayetano, a former city mayor, is the current general manager of PTV-4, the government broadcast network.
Sen. Cayetano has denied Lacson’s allegations and challenged him to produce evidence.
Meanwhile, Lacson just recently said in a statement that a senator-judge in the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte is a “bopol.” The former PNP chief did not mention any name in his statement, but he stressed that the senator-judge he is referring to is someone who would just intervene.
“Kapag magaling ang mga abogado ng prosekusyon at depensa, masarap makinig… Problem, kapag may umentra na senator-judge na ‘bopol’, nakakabobo naman,” Lacson said.
