Harry Roque reacted to the recent issue about Joshua Garcia
Former Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque thanked Kapamilya actor Joshua Garcia for being a DDS or “die-hard Duterte supporter.”
To recall, netizens noticed that Joshua reposted a video on TikTok showing support for Vice President Sara Duterte, who is now facing impeachment complaints.
With this, many netizens called Joshua “DDS.” Some netizens also pointed out that the Kapamilya actor was following VP Sara on Instagram.
Amid the issue and the criticism that the Kapamilya actor received, he remained silent. Despite the negative comments, some also had comments in favor of the actor, just like Harry Roque.
Based on a report from Abante News Online, the former Presidential Spokesperson told “Kakampinks” or supporters of former Vice President Leni Robredo not to be stressed about the supposed political color of Joshua Garcia.
“Kakampinks, huwag na kayong ma-i-stress kay Joshua Garcia. In an industry where showing support to Inday Sara Duterte could invite cancellation, Joshua refuses to hide his political convictions,” Roque said.
Then, he thanked the actor. “Daghang salamat, Joshua, for choosing integrity over manufactured image. Such conviction as yours is rare, and such courage as yours too deserves respect,” Harry Roque said.
However, recent posts from netizens showed that Joshua has already unfollowed VP Sara. Some netizens also pointed out that the actor had already deleted the video he reposted.
As of this writing, Joshua Garcia has not yet released a statement regarding this matter.
Meanwhile, with Joshua’s years in showbiz and all that he has achieved, he admitted in a past interview that fame got into him and it taught him important lessons the hard way.
