Quezon City Barangay Hall Employees Undergo Rapid Testing for COVID-19

QUEZON CITY BARANGAY HALL – Thirty (30) staff of a barangay hall in Q.C. tested positive in the COVID-19 rapid testing.

The fight against COVID-19 in PH is not yet over. Daily, there is still a notable increase on the total cases of coronavirus recorded in the country.

The said coronavirus disease was first recorded in China last December 2019. It infected a lot of people in Wuhan City, Hubei province which is its epicenter in the Chinese nation.

Over 82,000 people in China were infected by the disease. At least 4,000 died. Wuhan was locked for over two (2) months but it is already open now as China recovers from the outbreak.

The COVID-19 is now a pandemic. Its effects is far beyond what was expected of it and the World Health Organization (WHO) expressed that it is going to be a long-term battle against the disease.

In the Philippines, there is now a total of 20,382 cases of COVID-19 recorded in the country. According to the Department of Health (DOH), 984 of the patients died while 4,248 have already recovered from the disease.

The quarantine measures in the country have loosened. The high-risk areas are under a General Community Quarantine (GCQ) now while the other areas are under a Modified GCQ. However, everyone is reminded not to be complacent as the pandemic is not yet over.

Rapid testings are conducted in the different companies, institutions, and agencies as employees return to work. Local governments also implemented the same.

In a Quezon City barangay hall, thirty (30) staff tested positive for COVID-19 in the rapid testing. It was confirmed by Barangay South Triangle.

In line with 30 employees of the Quezon City barangay hall testing positive in COVID-19 rapid test, the barangay is suspending its operations for three (3) days beginning today, June 5.

In a Facebook post on its official social media page, the local government assured that the said employees were quarantined immediately. They are set to undergo a confirmatory test using the PCR tests.
