DILG: Quarantine Passes Still Required In All Areas Under MECQ, GCQ
DILG – The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) said that quarantine passes are still required for areas under modified and general community quarantine.
According to a report from ABS-CBN, Interior Undersecretary Jonathan Malaya said that these are necessary since movement is still limited in all areas under quarantine, including those with fewer restrictions.
“Yun pong ating quarantine pass ay kailangan pa rin po yan sa lahat ng lugar na nasa quarantine. Limitado pa rin po ang paglabas at pag galaw ng ating mga kababayan,”
Certain local government units primarily issued one quarantine pass per household in order to reduce the number of people going out of their homes.
Now that some areas shift to general community quarantine, passes might be issued to more than one member of each household. LGU;s must also conform to these adjustments.
“Quarantine Pass will still apply [because] limited movement pa din except for those going to work or those accessing essential services so their quarantine passes will have to be amended to conform to the new guidelines,”
As per the report, Police Lt. Gen. Guillermo Eleazar, Joint Task Force COVID-19 Shield head, said that officials stationed in checkpoints would use “common sense as well as humanitarian and medical consideration” in checking travelers.
