DOH Update on COVID-19 in PH As of Today (May 11, 2020)
DOH – The Department of Health released the COVID-19 update in the Philippines today, May 11, 2020.
Philippines is one of the countries with confirmed cases of coronavirus. Currently, more than 200 nations are fighting against this pandemic which is a long-term battle as to the World Health Organization (WHO).
In the pursuit to curb the spread of the disease in the country, several areas were placed under an Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ). The movement of the people are limited and only essential businesses can fully operate in a skeletal system.
The low and medium risk areas are currently under a General Community Quarantine (GCQ). Just like the ECQ in the high-risk areas, it is set to last until May 15. There will be an assessment before it to check whether the measure must be lifted, extended, or modified.
With regards to the COVID-19 cases in the Philippines now, the Department of Health (DOH) released an update for today, May 11. According to the health department, 292 new cases were recorded bringing the total to 11,086.
The health department recorded 7 new deaths due to coronavirus. It brings the total death toll to 726 now. With regards to the recoveries, 75 new recoveries were recorded bringing the total to 1,999.
