Apolitical Kuya Kim Atienza Trends After Alleged Swipe at Trillanes
KIM ATIENZA – Netizens were surprised after apolitical Kuya Kim made a comment that many interpreted as a subtle jab at former senator Sonny Trillanes.
Television host and GMA trivia master Kim Atienza recently became the subject of online discussions after some netizens noticed what they described as a subtle jab at former senator Antonio Trillanes IV despite his statement about staying away from politics.
The issue started after Kuya Kim shared a post on Threads following the commotion that reportedly took place in the Senate on Wednesday evening, May 13. In his post, the TV personality emphasized that he preferred to keep social media discussions free from political conflict.

“You may be pink, yellow or DDS, lets keep threads the way it was, apolitical. Respect for everyone regardless of political stance. Thanks kids. Love you all,” Kuya Kim said.
While many agreed with his message about respecting differing political views, some netizens quickly focused on his interaction with another user in the comments section.
One netizen asked on Threads what people call an angry bald man. Kuya Kim then jokingly replied, “Trillanes.”
“Ay sorry po,” he added. “Medyo mataas na din naman hairline ni sen trillanes.”
Because of the remark, social media users immediately reacted and shared mixed opinions online. Some found Kuya Kim’s comment humorous, while others questioned his earlier statement about being apolitical.

Among the comments left by netizens were:
“kala ko ba apolitical ka kuya kim? ksksksksks”
“DDS po ba kayo?”
“Kuyaaaaa Kiiiiiimmmmm!! HAHAHAHAHA apir tayo dyan. HAHAHAHA”
“dds po yan si kuya kim”
“hahaahahahahaaa kulit mo @kuyakim_atienza “
“Tas apolitical daw sya. Ano bang nakakahiya sa pagiging DDS?”
“Kuya kim, hindi ka po bias ?”
Meanwhile, another netizen also pointed out a screenshot allegedly showing that Vice President Sara Duterte is included in the Instagram following list of Kuya Kim.
The discussion continued to spread across social media platforms, with users debating whether the television host’s comment was simply a joke or a political statement directed at the former senator.
As of writing, however, Kuya Kim has yet to release any official statement or clarification regarding the issue and the reactions surrounding his post.
