DSWD Starts Posting List of SAP Beneficiaries Per Region
SAP BENEFICIARIES – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has started posting the list of beneficiaries of the Social Amelioration Program (SAP).
President Rodrigo Roa Duterte released billion for poor Filipino families amid the 2019 novel coronavirus crisis. He ordered the DSWD to lead the distribution of SAP cash aid.
The people who will benefit the program are the senior citizens, pregnant moms, single parents, PWDs, OFWs who are in distress, and low-income households. Lots of people had some issues regarding the process of selecting the beneficiaries.
Entertainment news writer Lolit Solis expressed her dismay on how the government selects the SAP beneficiaries. Vice President Leni Robredo urged the social welfare department to publicize the list.
Meanwhile, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Eduardo Año commended the people who voluntarily returned their cash aid.
Based on a report from Philippine News Agency, DSWD has started posting the names of the SAP beneficiaries on their website. They decided to publicize the list to promote transparency.
People can now easily check the list through dswd.gov.ph. It featured the list in barangay, municipal, and provincial levels. There are also search and filter functions on the website.
According to the report, people who want to report non-qualified SAP beneficiaries may contact DSWD’s Grievance Redress System (GRS). It is monitored by the government agency’s Central Office-Operations Center (OpCen)
