DOH Update on COVID-19 Cases In the Philippines

DOH – The Department of Health released an update on the COVID-19 cases in the Philippines today, April 30, 2020.

Philippines is one of the over 200 countries with confirmed cases of coronavirus. Officially called as COVID-19, this disease has infected over three (3) million people across the globe.

In the Philippines, the entire Luzon and most provinces in Visayas and Mindanao are under an Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ). President Rodrigo Roa Duterte also declared a state of calamity in the whole country.

The ECQ in most provinces, cities and municipalities is set to end today. In high-risk areas, it will be extended until May 15, 2020. The low and medium risk areas were downgraded to a General Community Quarantine (GCQ).

DOH COVID Update

The movement of the people were given limits to prevent the spread of coronavirus. This disease which was first recorded in China has left a lot of nations under an outbreak.

Every day, the Department of Health releases an update regarding the COVID-19 cases in the Philippines. For today, April 30, 2020, DOH reported 276 new cases of COVID-19 in the country bringing the total to 8,488 now.

Twenty (20) people recently recovered from the disease bringing the total to 1,043 recoveries. According to the health department, with regards to the death toll, ten (10) new deaths were recorded bringing the death toll to 568.
