What happens during a general community quarantine in case ECQ will be lifted?
GENERAL COMMUNITY QUARANTINE – If ECQ will be lifted, a general community quarantine or GCQ is recommended and this is what will happen.
A new word in response to the coronavirus disease outbreak in the country is making rounds online and that is “General Community Quarantine”. This type of community quarantine has gentler rules and regulations compared to that of enhanced community quarantine.
This will accordingly be implemented to provinces and cities with moderate or low risk to COVID-19. And if this is enforced, agriculture, fisheries, and forestry sectors, food manufacturing and all supply chains, including ink, packaging and raw materials, supermarkets, hospitals, logistics, water, energy, internet, telecommunications, and media operations will be finally allowed.
Takeout and delivery services only for restaurants. Also, financial services, business process outsourcing (BPO), non-leisure wholesale and retail trade, and other non-leisure services, 50% onsite work and 50% work from home is permitted.
But other establishments remain close such as all schools, gatherings for leisure, amusement, gaming and fitness, tourism, and even that of religious- related activities which gathers major crowd is prohibited.
Who are allowed to go out during GCQ? Persons aging 0-20 years old, those who are 60 years old and above, people with underlying conditions such lung and heart disease and diabetes are all prohibited to go out and must strictly stay at home.
Mass transportation resumes at a limited capacity and air and sea ports will also resume operation for goods only. And as for those who are non-workers, there will be curfew.
