SUMMARY OF RESULTS
Students who qualify for the DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholarship Program can receive several benefits that may help lessen their college expenses while taking science and technology-related courses.
Scholars will receive an P8,000 monthly allowance along with up to P40,000 yearly tuition support for those studying in private colleges and universities. The program also provides P10,000 every year for learning materials and internet expenses, plus additional allowances for thesis, graduation, and even clothing.
Students studying outside their home province may also receive a yearly round-trip transportation allowance. Aside from financial support, scholars are covered by accident and health insurance during their studies.
Some may also qualify for research grants for conferences or journal presentations, depending on approval.
These benefits will continue throughout the scholar’s Bachelor of Science degree under approved science and technology programs.
Passers will receive a Notice of Award, while applicants with incomplete requirements may still undergo further checking. Qualified scholars, together with their parents or guardians, will also attend an orientation where the rules, benefits, and responsibilities under the scholarship program will be explained.
To become eligible, applicants must enroll in an approved Bachelor of Science course and study in recognized state universities or qualified private schools. Private institutions should have proper accreditation or recognition from CHED.
After finishing their studies, scholars are expected to work in the Philippines in their chosen field for the same number of years they received the scholarship. It allows the country to benefit from the skills and knowledge gained by scholars through the program.
