Here are the target beneficiaries of social amelioration fund as per President Duterte.
SOCIAL AMELIORATION FUND – Department of Social Welfare and Development will provide emergency support to poor families.
Last March 30, 2020, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte gave the country about an update about how the government is dealing and handling the people situation of the Philippines amid the COVID-19 Pandemic. This was held at at the Malago Clubhouse in Malacañang, late night of Monday.
And according to him, those families who are greatly affected by the public health crisis is set to receive a relief assistance. He said, “The government is now launching the largest and widest social protection program in our country’s history to make up for the loss of economic opportunities due to the quarantine measures in place for COVID-19.”
The Php 200-billion was given to him by the Congress and this huge amount will be benefited by poor families excluding the rich. The target beneficiaries will receive the emergency support for two months where the subsidy ranges between Php 5,000.00 to Php 8,000.00 to around 18 million low income households.
Last week, the President signed Republic Act No. 11469, or the ” Bayanihan To Heal As One Act” where the bill gives him additional powers in handling this pandemic crisis. He even added that he will do anything so no one gets hungry amid this trying time.
Here are the beneficiaries of the social protection program as per News5:
- Senior Citizens
- Person with Disability (PWDs)
- Pregnant Women
- Solo Parents
- Indigenous People
- Homeless Citizens
- Farmers
- Fishermen
- Self-Employed
- Informal Settlers
- Employess affected by “No Work, No Pay” policy such as (PUV drivers, house helpers, construction workers, and among others)
