According to the letter, one of the sender’s sisters was abused twice by a kagawad’s son, on November 17, 2022, and on February 14, 2023. The victim got pregnant after the first abuse, but the village councilor “kidnapped” her and brought her to Montalban, where she was forced to have an abortion.

It wasn’t only the victim who suffered abuse from the unnamed official.

The student also described other harmful actions, including threatening families, cutting and stealing electrical wires that left homes without power, and damaging water systems, leaving residents without water access.

The unfortunate incident has reportedly taken place in Camarines Sur, and the child appealed for protection for herself and for others. The incident in the letter sparked public outrage, and the people online called for swift government action.

Upon reading the letter, the president expressed that he was “close to tears” and, at the same time, angry and deeply concerned over what had been going on.

Marcos Jr. directed the authorities to locate the barangay official allegedly involved immediately and highlighted the significance and urgency of protecting the child and holding those responsible accountable.

“You are a very brave, intelligent and very kind girl and I will make sure to help you and your sisters in any way you need,” Marcos Jr. said, and added, “P.S. If there is anything else that you need, just get in touch with us and we will help.”

He assured the sender that the victim would receive assistance and protection and that the authorities would conduct an investigation into the case to ensure that justice is served.

The government is yet to update whether the operation has been carried out or not.
