CORONAVIRUS IN ITALY – An Italian official got fed-up with violators of the lockdown and said: “We will send police with flame-throwers”.

Italy remains the hardest-hit country of the new coronavirus. As such, it is now the world’s new coronavirus epicenter with China’s cases dying down.

With this, the Italian Prime Minister had placed the entire country under lockdown. However, there are still stubborn residents that choose to leave their homes.

Massimiliano Presciutti, Reggio Calabria’s mayor had gotten frustrated with lockdown violators – specifically, those using their dogs to leave their homes.

Meanwhile, Vincenzo De Luca, the president of Campania stated that he got word that some students would like to throw a graduation party.

This ticked-off De Luca which led him to say that those who dare create such an event would be met with “police with flame throwers”.

A Netizen on Twitter even made a compilation of Italian mayors losing it over people violating the quarantine.

Yesterday, Italy’s death toll was increased by 651 in just a day. This brought the total fatalities in the country to 5,476. For several days, Italy had consistent growth in the number of cases.

Fortunately, the number of deaths seem to be on a decline. According to an article from Aljazeera, Italy reported 602 new deaths. In addition, the total number of cases has increased to 63,928.

Currently, the new coronavirus has affected millions of people worldwide. Moreover, there have been 378,394 people infected with COVID-19. Furthermore, 16,491 have succumbed to the deadly disease.
