COVID Test Kits From Singapore Arrives, PH Receives 3,000 Kits

There are 3,000 COVID test kits that arrived from Singapore.

COVID TEST KITS – The Philippines received 3,000 coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) diagnostic test kits donated by Singapore on Tuesday, March 24.

Last week, the South Korea and China sent a total of 125,000 Coronavirus Disease 2019 test kits where 100,000 of it were donated from China and 25,000 from South Korea. This diagnostic kits will be used by the country to people who exhibit symptoms of the viral and highly contagious disease.

The threats brought about by this disease which was first discovered in Wuhan and unfortunately quickly spread to many countries made President Rodrigo Duterte put the entire Luzon in lockdown. These were all made by the government to contain the spread of the virus.

And now, another batch test kits donated by the Singapore to the country which is at 3,000 have already arrived. This is according to the Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. along with a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) machine.

He added according to the Inquirer’s report, “The equipment was personally handed to me by Ambassador Gerard Ho Wei Hong.  Thank you, Singapore!”

Meanwhile, also from China, the country received 100,000 surgical masks, 10,000 N95 masks and 10,000 sets of personal protective equipment. This disease attacks the respiratory system. Hundred thousands have been infected globally and killed thousand.

The novel coronavirus also called as SARS-CoV-2 is a name given to this new strain of coronavirus from the International Committee on Taxonomy of Viruses. It has symptoms the same to that of a flu but could be severe to other cases. This is especially to older people or those with underlying health problems.
