Mambukal Resort Serves As Quarantine Area For 84 Negrenses Under Monitoring From Luzon

The Mambukal Resort will shelter 84 Negrenses being monitored.

MAMBUKAL RESORT – Famous spot and vacation place in Negros, Mambukal Resort, will serve as an area for 84 Negrenses from Luzon quarantined for monitoring.

Yesterday, the spokesperson of Bacolod City Inter-Agency Task Force Against COVID-19 Dr. Grace Tan reported five (5) new patients considered as persons under investigation (PUI) in the said city. This is amid the implemented heightened community quarantine according to the Executive order of Mayor Evelio “Bing” Leonardia.

And also yesterday, through a conference, the mayor of the city announced the first ever confirmed case of coronavirus disease in his area. The patient is a 56-year-old male who has a travel history to London. He is admitted and under isolation.

Now, the Mambukal resort, a famous spot in Negros Occidental, will serve as a quarantine area for 84 Negrenses from Luzon who were stranded in Clark International Airport due to travel restrictions amid the implemented enhanced community quarantine in the entire Luzon. Accordingly, on March 19, they were among the 138 passengers who arrived at Bacolod-Silay Airport.

For 14 days, they will stay at Mambukal and will be under monitoring for virus symptoms. They were carried by a special Cebu Pacific flight from Clark airport to Bacolod. There will be two person in every cottage but are not allowed to use any of the resort’s recreational facilities.

The famous resort in Negros Occidental features seven waterfalls, hot sulfur dipping pools, swimming pools, a pond for boating, and areas for trekking. The expenses for those who are under 14-quarantine will be shouldered by the provincial government.

And if any of them will exhibit symptoms of the novel coronavirus, he or she will be immediately marked as a person under investigation and will be transferred to Cadiz District Hospital (formerly St. Anne’s Medical Center) in Barangay Daga, Cadiz City as per Inquirer.
