Bacolod City Placed Under Community Quarantine
Mayor Evelio “Bing” Leonardia has placed Bacolod City under a state of general community quarantine due to coronavirus.
The Philippine government is already implementing precautionary measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease, which is now spreading in different countries all around the world.
The deadly virus has already infected thousands of people worldwide. The health scare is already causing fear and panic to the public after the World Health Organization declared the disease as “Pandemic”.
On Sunday (March 16, 2020), Bacolod City, Negros Occidental has been placed under general community quarantine as a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of coronavirus disease 2019.
Bacolod City would restrict the travel by land, sea, and air but transportation of goods and food supplies to and from the city would not be hampered. Delivery personnel and drivers will undergo health checking procedures.
The authorities would designate personnel to conduct health checking procedures. The authorities would limit the movement of the residents from accessing basic necessities to work only.
The Philippine National Police and the Philippine Coast Guard will secure the borders and ports and would put up checkpoints.
