Bacolod Situation: Officials Receive Food & Medicine Supplies From People

Here’s Bacolod situation amid community quarantine.

BACOLOD SITUATION – Check up officials flooded with food and medicine supplies from Bacolodnons as help amid community quaratine.

Last March 16, with the alarming growth of coronavirus disease in the country and in the whole world, the mayor of Bacolod City, Evelio “Bing” Leonardia placed the area under a state of general community quarantine. This means that some routines and actions will be restricted as a precautionary measure to contain the spread of the virus.

Travel by land, sea, and air are restricted but transportation of goods and food supplies to and from the city is allowed. To several points, personnel and officials are assigned to conduct health checking procedures. And on the first day, the situation of Bacolod being community quarantine was a bit messy.

But now, on the third day, many people were spotted extending their help to the officials amid their hard work and being among the frontliners. Bacolodnos sent food and medical supplies for the personnel as a help to them.

The contagious disease affected hundreds of thousands of people globally already and killing thousands. President Duterte has placed Luzon under an enhanced community quarantine and declared the entire Philippines under the state of calamity.

This declaration will allow LGUs to use their funds as response to the situation. The confirmed cases in the Philippines already climbed up to 193 with some recovery cases based on their latest briefing as of press time.
