Covid patient dies in a Marawi City hospital.

COVID PATIENT – A patient who have been showing coronavirus symptoms died in a Marawi City hospital hours before test results got released.

A man attended a Malasian Islamic event and showed symptoms of Coronavirus Disease 2019. He was an Islamic missionary and died hours before his test results came out which confirmed that he is positive of the pandemic disease.

He was being treated at the Amai Pakpak Hospital in Marawi City on Tuesday (March 18) according to Zia Alonto Adiong, Bangsamoro parliament member. He was among the 215 Muslims who attended the said Islamic event which happened last February 27 until March 1 in Malaysia.

The results which confirmed the expired patient was from Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) and another patient from the same hospital also tested positive for the nover coronavirus disease and also attended the same event, He was from Lanao Del Sur and got admitted at Cotabato Regional and Medical Center.

Adion added that there are more than 80 persons in other towns of Lanao del Sur who were placed under monitoring by the provincial health office. And the rest of the 215 people who came from the same event and traveled to Malaysia were advised to come out and be tested to prevent the spread of the virus.

Mayor Cynthia Guiani-Sayadi already asked the list of people who came in the event in Malaysia “so we can track them down and help them” to contain the spread of the virus. And Cotabato is ready in case of worst case scenario.
