Mandatory Quarantine of 500 Students & Teachers in Bicol Ordered by DepEd

The Department of Education (DepEd) has ordered the mandatory quarantine of over 500 students, teachers, and school employees in Bicol.

DepEd Bicol chief Gilbert Sadsad has ordered the more than 500 students and teachers who attended national events from other regions to undergo self-quarantine for 14 days as a precaution against coronavirus disease.

At least 302 delegates have attended the National School Press Conference (NSPC) in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan from March 9 to 13, 2020. Some of the delegates have travel back home on Thursday (March 12) to avoid the travel ban in Manila.

Mandatory Quarantine

Another 200 delegates have also attended the National Festival of Talents in Ilagan City, Isabela.

Albay Governor Al Francis Bichara has required all the residents who traveled outside the area to observe home quarantine for at least 14 days. Health workers and barangay officials will monitor the residents under quarantine.

Governor Miguel Luis Villafuerte of Camarines Sur has also ordered the implementation of 14-day self-quarantine of travelers who came from the places with confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019.
