4 Patients Under Investigation & 13 Persons Monitored in Negros oriental
NEGROS ORIENTAL – The province got four (4) patients under investigation (PUIs) and 13 persons under monitoring (PUMs).
Several cities, municipalities, and provinces got patients under investigation (PUIs) and persons under monitoring (PUMs) now due to the 2019 novel coronavirus. The Philippines currently has 33 confirmed cases of the disease.
The first three (3) cases of coronavirus in the Philippines were all Chinese nationals. The second patient, a 44-year-old Chinese man, died during his treatment in San Lazaro Hospital. He was the first coronavirus death case outside China. The other Chinese patients recovered from the disease.
Currently, 30 confirmed patients of coronavirus in the Philippines are confined in the different hospitals in the country. The tracing of the people they had a close contact with is also ongoing.

People who have travel history abroad most especially those who visited coronavirus-stricken nations are monitored. Based on a report on TV Patrol Negros, there are 13 persons under monitoring in Negros Oriental province following a travel history abroad.
Aside from the 13 persons monitored in Negros Oriental, the authorities also recorded four (4) patients under investigation (PUIs). According to Assistant Provincial Health Officer Dr. Liland Estacion, here are their profiles:
- Patient 1: 62-year-old male from Metro Manila and visited Greenhills
- Patient 2 and 3: couple who has visited Japan
- Patient 4: oversease Filipino worker (OFW) from Hong Kong
Based on the report, Patient 1 is confined in a private hospital in the province while the other three (3) PUIs are under a home-quarantine. They exhibit symptoms similar to signs of flu.
