33 Total Coronavirus Cases Confirmed in Philippines, DOH Clarifies

DOH – The Department of Health clarified that there are 33 total confirmed cases of coronavirus in the Philippines and not 35.

Currently, the government, the health department, the different agencies and sectors in the Philippines, and the Filipino citizenry are monitoring the updates on coronavirus. It was after the continuous increase on the records of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the country.

From 10 confirmed coronavirus cases in the Philippines yesterday morning, the count has jumped to 24 this morning, March 10, 2020. Several local government units (LGUs) have confirmed cases of COVID-19 in their areas.

The Department of Health confirmed another 10 cases at around 5:00 pm yesterday and, just a few hours after, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte revealed that four (4) more people tested positive for the disease. Most patients are in Metro Manila.

Recently, an update from Department of Health crossed the surface. On its official Facebook page, the health department stated in a post that 11 new cases were confirmed in the Philippines. The said data brought the total number of cases to 35.

Shortly after, the DOH clarified that there are nine (9) new confirmed cases of coronavirus in the Philippines and not 11. The total number of cases confirmed in the country now is 33 and not 35.

According to the health department, the “11” referred to in their previous post are “positive samples and not cases”. A press conference was held over the update on coronavirus cases in PH.
