Cops Arrested Chinese Man After Illegal Substance Found Inside Lunchbox
CHINESE – A Chinese man was arrested in Clark Free Port Zone after a pack of illegal drugs was found inside his lunchbox.
Illegal drugs is one of the pressing issues in the Philippines. President Rodrigo Roa Duterte carried out the “war on drugs” campaign to end crimes. In November last year, the chief executive appointed Vice President Leni Robredo to lead the anti-drug campaign.
Duterte gave her 6-months to lead the campaign. After Robredo collected the data regarding the illegal substance. She said most of the supplies came from China.
VP Leni Robredo said most of the suspects of the operating drug schemes are Chinese nationals. She also said the drug trade now uses parcel and online gambling businesses.
The politician said there is still lots of information she hasn’t received and there’s still a lot to be done. “Hindi lang iyong US iyong kausapin, hindi lang iyong UN ang kausapin, pero kausapin iyong iba pang mga bansa na tingin natin makakatulong sa atin,” she said.
Weeks after her appointment as drug czar, Duterte fired her for fear that she might disclose “classified” matters about his anti-drug campaign.
“There can never be a trust that can be nurtured between the two of us for the simple reason that Leni Robredo is with the opposition, ako nandito ako sa kabila (while I belong to the ruling party),” Duterte said.
Recently, a Chinese national was arrested while entering Clark Free Port Zone after a pack of illegal drugs was found inside a lunchbox. Based on a report from GMA News, Zhang Cun Hua carries the illegal substance on the box with rice.
According to the report, the authorities said the 29-year-old Chinese man said the lunchbox was for his friend who works at Philippine Offshore Gaming Operations (POGO) in Clark, Pampanga. The cops immediately arrested him. The suspect didn’t release any statement regarding the illegal drugs found in his lunchbox.
