Famous personalities show support for ABS-CBN amid shut down issue.
ABS-CBN SHUT DOWN – These famous media and entertainment personalities have these reactions amid ABS-CBN shut down issue.
Based on a previous article, Solicitor General Jose Calida wanted to cancel ABS-CBN franchise renewal. This all happened after Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte vowed to close the network down after it refused to air his election campaign ads in 2016. Big stars such as Robin Padilla, Sharon Cuneta, and Lea Salonga, meanwhile, urge lawmakers to renew the franchise of the country’s leading broadcast network.
And now, Solicitor General Jose Calida persuades the Supreme Court to scrap ABS-CBN’s franchise renewal due to the network’s “highly abusive practices” which were disregarded for many years. He stated, “We want to put an end to what we discovered to be highly abusive practices of ABS-CBN benefiting a greedy few at the expense of millions of its loyal subscribers…”
Meanwhile, in a statement released by the network, they insisted that they have not violated any law. It said that the network “complies with all pertinent laws governing its franchise and has secured all necessary government and regulatory approvals for its business operations”.
Now, with all the buzz brought about by the issue, these famous media and entertainment personalities expressed their support for the biggest network in the country. By showing their support, they have shared photo of ABS-CBN logo in black background with the tag line “In The Service Of The Filipino”.
