DUTERTE – Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte gave a message for ABS-CBN network over its franchise expiry in March 2020.

During the election campaign period, several political advertisements are being aired on the national television. Undeniably, it is one of the best ways to campaign as most household watch TV daily.

However, with regards to the campaign for the Election 2016, former Davao City Mayor and now President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has a complain. Allegedly, the ABS-CBN network did not air his advertisement although he already paid for it.

In line with the alleged not airing of his campaign, the President warned not to allow the network to renew its franchise. The franchise of the Kapamilya network is set to expire in March 2020 or just three (3) months from now.

Recently, Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte spoke again regarding the franchise expiry of ABS-CBN network in March 2020. Based on a report on Pep, the President is firm on his initial warning.

“Ikaw, ABS-CBN, you’re a mouthpiece of… If you are expecting na ma-renew ‘yan, I’m sorry. You’re out,” he said.

The President added that he will really see to it that ABS-CBN won’t be able to renew their franchise. According to him, not only his but several other candidates including now Sorsogon Governor Chiz Escudero’s advertisements were not aired.

“Pero yung propaganda ni Trillanes portraying children and which is really a prohibited act under the rules of the Election Code, in spite of the fact na may TRO, pinalabas niyo,” the President expressed based on the report.

Pres. Duterte revealed that there were Kapamilya executives who were “begging” to him over the renewal of the ABS-CBN franchise. However, visibly, the President holds tight to his initial warning.
