Traffic Aide In Iloilo City Who Returned Lost Check Honored

ILOILO CITY – The Iloilo government recently honored an Iloilo City traffic aide for returning the lost check of a government employee.

According to Panay News, the traffic aide, identified as Jonji Belarma, aged 36 of Barangay Tap-oc, Molo in the city, received a certificate of commendation from Governor Arthur Defensor Jr.

The traffic aid also received a cash award from the provincial government’s Human Resource Management and Development Office (HRMDO).

Belarma found the check while he managed the flow of vehicles on Muelle Loney Street at the rear of the provincial capitol on January 21.

As per the report, the check indicated that it was owned by the capitol employee, identified as Michael Raymond Dela Cruz, which was issued by the Provincial Treasurer’s Office. The check also have the signature of Atty. Suzette Mamon, a provincial administrator.

Belarma, who began working as city traffic aide five months ago, decided to turn it over to the capitol’s HRMDO.
