This has been reported by the WHO China Country Office last December 31, 2019. Accordingly, it was found in Wuhan City, Hubei Province of China. The cases rose up to 44 where 11 were seriously ill and the remaining 33 are now in stable condition.

To prevent spread of this disease, the affected area in China has been closed for sanitization and disinfection while the affected ones were “isolated and receiving treatment in Wuhan medical institutions.” The symptoms include with fever, few patients suffering difficulty in breathing, and chest radiographs showing invasive lesions of both lungs.

With this, Health Secretary Francisco T. Duque III ordered BOQ to secure the seaports and airports for incoming travelers who suffer the same symptoms especially those with fever and respiratory infection.

“I urge the public, especially those with history of travel from China, to seek immediate medical consult if experiencing any flu-like symptoms. Let us also embrace healthy lifestyles, practice proper hand hygiene, and observe cough etiquette to prevent transmission of respiratory infections,” says Health Chief as per PEP’s report.
