Meet The First Ever PH Baby of 2020, Ericka Escopete
PH FIRST BABY OF 2020 – Meet Ericka Escopete, a healthy baby girl who was born at exactly 12 midnight of January 1, 2019.
A 20-year-old woman identified as Rosel Escopete did not expect to deliver her baby girl named Ericka Escopete at exactly 12 midnight (New Year’s Day) at Dr. Jose Fabella Memorial Hospital. Baby Escopete is weighing 2.9 kilograms.
Rosel’s due date was December 29, 2019 (Sunday) but her water broke on December 31, 2019 around 9:00 pm. The young mom was rushed to the hospital and almost went home to Manila North Cemetery after nearly an hour of pacing at the hospital.
After a few moments, the lady’s contractions became more intense and finally gave birth to a bouncing baby girl. Her husband Roderick took care of her while delivering the baby.
“I was not thinking about being the first mother to deliver her baby on New Year. I just wanted to give birth for my child,” Rosel said.
The hospital employees rejoiced and cheered when she finally delivered the baby although she can’t smile due to the pain. Baby Ericka is one of the 20 babies who were born on January 1, 2019 between 12:00 am and 5:00 am.
A Cavite resident Rose Marie Manlayas also gave birth to a baby boy Jembie at 12:46 am thinking that she could not make it around 12am.
