Isko Moreno Fires MTPB Enforcer for Extorting Money From Motorist
ISKO MORENO – Manila Mayor Isko Moreno fired the traffic enforcer who was caught on camera receiving bribe money from a motorist.
Actor-turned-politician “Francisco “Isko Moreno” is the mayor of the city of Manila. He has done several positive changes in the city since he assumed the office.
Recently, there was a Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau (MTBP) who was dragged by a speeding SUV. Adrian Lim sustained some injuries. The driver named Orlando Ricardo Dizon Jr. was later arrested.
In a previous article, Isko Moreno approved the regularization of the 21-year-old traffic enforcer who was dragged by a car. He praised him for his dedication to his work. The mayor encouraged all the employees in Manila to follow the “hero enforcer.”
“Dapat tularan ito. O, MTPB, alam na this…hanapan niyo na ito. Congatulations, we’re proud of you,” he said.
However, some traffic enforcers just couldn’t obey the mayor’s orders. On Thursday, November 20, Isko Moreno uploaded the photo of a traffic enforcer who was extorting money from the motorists on his Facebook Page.
Based on a report from Inquirer, MTPB chief Dennis Viaje said traffic enforcer Modesto Tabion Tadeo Jr. was relieved for engaging in “kotong.” The enforcer was caught on camera receiving money from the motorist.
In a statement, the 45-year-old politician said he was disappointed over the alleged “kotong” activities of the MTPB.
“Ikinalulungkot ko po na sa kabila ng aming pagsisikap na disiplinahin ang aming mga kawani sa Pamahalaang Lungsod ng Maynila ay meron pa ring mga bulok na kamatis sa aming mga hanay…”
“Sa ating bagong pamamahala, kinikilala natin ang mabuti, ngunit hindi rin natin pwede ikubli ang mga masasamang elemento na kailangan alisin,” he added.
