VIDEO: Fire In San Roque, Cebu City Destroyed Eighty Houses

CEBU CITY – About eighty houses were engulfed in flames in Sitio Pantig in Barangay San Roque, Cebu City on Sunday afternoon (November 3).

According to ABS-CBN, it took three hours for the firefighters to extinguish the fire.

Cebu Provincial Fire Marshal Superintendent Fritzie Manatad said explained that strong winds, narrow roads and a rubber in one of the buildings were the reason it took them that long to put out the fire.

Luckily, there are no reported fatalities or casualties in the incident. The officials held an emergency session to declare a state of calamity to the barangay. this is to make use of calamity funds.

As per the report, the victims of the fire are currently sheltered in the barangay gym.

ABS-CBN News also posted a video from netizen Jay Royn Acevedo Ovic, of the said fire.

In the caption, Ovic filmed the thick grey smoke that was billowing above the city.
