HR Staff’s Post About Illiterate Farmer Goes Viral Online

A certain HR staff’s post about an illiterate farmer who went to her office goes viral and garnered various reactions from the online community.

Over the past few weeks, the decreasing prices of unhusked rice has been one of the most controversial and most discussed topics online. Filipino farmers are expressing their disappointment regarding this matter.

However, some farmers can’t read or write after failing to study due to extreme poverty and just rely their primary source of income on planting. They also deserved to be respected despite their situation.

Illiterate Farmer

Recently, a Facebook user named “Novica Tabaco” has shared her photo together with an illiterate farmer. The Human Resource personnel showed an act of kindness towards the farmer and even helped him with his documents.

Tabaco said that the illiterate farmer who visited her office broke her heart although she is a short-tempered person when it comes to people asking the same questions over and over again.

The HR staff helped the old man with his documents and urged the public to be kind to farmers, fishermen, and livestock care takers. She also said that the farmers has the right to demand hike on the price of unhusked rice.

“Nag trabaho ako as HR Staff nagtrabaho din ako as Teller, ‘di ko mapigilan yung temper ko pag paulit ulit ako nag eexplain. Pero dito sa mga magsasaka, ‘di ko magawang magalit. At wala talaga ako karapatang magalit. Nadudurog pa puso ko kasi halos lahat di marunong mag sulat. Sa trabaho kong ito at sa mga taong’ to, nakaka ani pa ako ng sobra sobrang respeto.

Mam pwede po ba, thumbmark nalang kasi hindi ko din po kaya pumirma.” 😢💔
Kaya sa may mga magulang na magsasaka, mangingisda o magbubukid at maghahayop. Wag na wag po natin ikahiya.

Kahit taasan niyo lang ang presyo ng palay. 🙏
Napaka mahal ng bigas pero napaka mura ng palay.”
