LGBTQ Prisoner Requests For Cell Transfer
LGBTQ – A member of the LGBTQ community requested for a cell transfer to avoid being abused by his fellow inmates.
Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) community, some politicians and celebrities are calling for support for gay rights. Some transgenders claimed that they are being discriminated by the stereotypes.
The issue energized after the restroom issue of the transgender woman named Gretchen Diez. She was handcuffed and brought to the police station.
Diez gathered supports from known personalities like Catriona Gray, Anti-discrimination bill author Risa Hontiveros, Imee Marcos, Bong Go, and President Rodrigo Roa Duterte. In a report, the trans woman met the chief executive in Malacañang Palace.
Following a previous article, Senate President Vicente Sotto III said the Anto-discrimination bill has ‘no chance’ in passing the senate. He said it could take away the religious and academic freedom.
Recently, an LGBTQ+ member in Iloilo City requested something to the authorities after being arrested for illegal drugs. Based on a report from GMA News, the suspect Mark Joseph Parreño don’t want to be mixed with other prisoners.
According to the report, Parreño requested to be transferred in a different cell to avoid being abused by other inmates. The LGBTQ+ member was arrested in a buy-bust operation. Cops found several sachets of illegal substance in his possession.
