Catriona Gray Call on Lawmakers to Approve the LGBTQ Anti-Discrimination Bill

CATRIONA GRAY – Filipina-Australian beauty queen Catriona Gray called on lawmakers to approve LGBTQ+ anti-discrimination bill.

Reigning Miss Universe Catriona Gray was recently invited to become one of the judges of their national pageant. She got to meet again her rival Tamaryn Green and Miss Universe 2017 Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters.

In a report, she shared several photos of her African Safari experience. She took a selfie with a baby rhino and took the opportunity to promote the Rhino orphanage.

Recently, Catriona Gray shared a photo of her holding the rainbow flag for Lesbian Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer (LGBT) on her Instagram account. The Bicolana beauty queen showed support to the discriminated trans woman in Quezon City mall on Tuesday, August 13.

Several famous celebrities have spoken up after the incident at the mall’s ladies toilet. Among them are Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach, Vice Ganda, Bianca Gonzalez, and Heart Evangelista among others.

Catriona Gray is among the personalities who call for the implementation of the SOGIE Equality Bill. She asked why the transgender woman, Gretchen Custodio Diez, was still discriminated considering the city already has an existing Anti-discrimination bill.

On the post, she also wrote her two requests for the community and called on lawmakers to approve the SOGIE Bill that protects the LBGTQ members. Senator Risa Hontiveros re-filled the bill last month.

“LGBTQ+ rights are HUMAN rights – mga karapatang pangkaligtasan at kalayaan mula sa diskriminasyon, karahasan at pagmamalupit batay sa pagkakakilanlan,” she wrote.
