Risa Hontiveros Calls For PAO Chief Persida Acosta’s Resignation Over Alleged Vaccination Scare
RISA HONTIVEROS – Senator Risa Hontiveros called for the resignation of PAO chief Persida Acosta’s over alleged vaccination scare.
Ana Theresia “Risa” Navarro Hontiveros is one of the Senators in the Philippines. From 2004 to 2010, she was the representative of the Akbayan party at the House of Representative of the Philippines.
The politician’s laws focus on the concerns for the LGBT community, women, people with disabilities, and children among others.
Risa Hontiveros is the older sister of host Ginggay Hontiveros and the broadcast journalist Pia Hontiveros.
These three sisters are one of the most well-known personalities in the country.
Based on a report from ABS-CBN, Risa Hontiveros called for the resignation of Persida Acosta who is currently the chief of the Public Attorney’s Office.
The senator accused Acosta of allegedly spreading
Following a previous article, the Department of Health recently declared a measles outbreak in several locations in the Philippines.
According to the report, the DOH stated that they have already recorded 14 deaths in different locations while there are 55 victims in San Lazaro Hospital in Manila.
Amid the measles outbreak, Risa Hontiveros asked the PAO chief Acosta to resign due to her allegedly “politically-motivated” investigations.
“Her lies and hysterics contributed directly to the erosion of public trust in our vaccination programs,” said the Senator.
Based on the report, Risa Hontiveros, she said Persida Acosta was lying and bias on her job as the Public Attorney’s Office chief.
