Ferdinand dela Cruz Resigns From Being Manila Water Chief

MANILA WATER CHIEF – Manila Water’s President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ferdinand dela Cruz resigned from his post.

Previously, Manila Water which is one of the water providers under the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System faced a lot of problem. The MWSS even imposed a penalty to Manila Water over the crisis.

Several parts of Manila previously experienced shortage of water supply. It reached the Office of the President and Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte right away ordered water services for the public.

Following those trying times for Manila Water, the company is now “stable”. Even its President, Ferdinand dela Cruz, is confident to leave his post.

Based on a report on GMA News, Manila Water Chief Ferdinand dela Cruz has tendered his resignation. He is the director, chief sustainability officer, and executive committee member of the company as well.

Dela Cruz has already confirmed his resignation to GMA News. With regards to the reason behind it, the Manila Water CEO tagged it as “personal”. Meanwhile, he expressed his gratitude and support to everyone.

Reportedly, the resignation of Dela Cruz is effective August 31 of this year. Aside from leaving his post in Manila Water, he also opted to retire from Ayala Corporation – the mother company of Manila Water.

“Our services are relatively stable, a new water resources roadmap is in place and a demand management plan has been initiated,” he assured based on the report.

According to the Manila Water Chief, after leaving his post on August 31, he will take a break first before planning out what he will do next. Jose Rene Gregory Almendras will take over his position effective September 1, 2019.
