The Singapore-based transportation network company offers vehicular transfer services, food delivery and online payment processes. Recently, the company celebrated their 7th anniversary by giving away P7 million worth of promos and costumer rewards.

Meanshile, there would be a slight inconvenience for the Grab passengers as the deactivation of these accounts will cause a massive decrease in available grab vehicles for service.

8000 Grab driver accounts pending to provide a proof of provisional authority for operation from Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) will be deactivated on June 10, 2019 (Monday).

Grab Philippines claimed the movement is in compliance with LTFRB’s set time frame in their statement:

“This will be done after Grab had acted in good faith that TNVS (transport network vehicle service) partners would comply within the time frame agreed upon with the LTFRB.”

20000 slots for Transport Network Vehicle Service (TNVS) units was opened by LTFRB recently. The application for the slots will continue until Friday (June 7, 2019).

Grap Philippines President Brian Cu also revealed that the decrease in driver accounts could case a slight inconvenience to Grab users.

He said:

“This will reduce the number of vehicles servicing our commuting public, thus inconveniencing many Filipinos. We hope that this inconvenience will be temporary, as we anticipate new drivers – even those from the 8,000 – to take advantage of the 10,000 new slots for application starting June 10.”

This is according to an article from CNN Philippines.

Currently, at least 45000 drivers are registered to serve passengers under Grab Philippines.

That is all there is to it, at least for now. We’ll post updates as soon as we got them.
