The Heat Index Recorded At NAIA Reached 45.1 Degrees Celsius

HEAT INDEX – The recorded heat index in Ninoy Aquino International Airport reached 45.1 degrees Celsius last Sunday (May 20, 2019).

Last week, the highest ever heat index in the country was recorded in Cagayan. Where the it reached up to 57.6 degrees Celsius, beating the recently recorded 51.7 degrees Celsius in Dagupan city.

Meanwhile, in NAIA Pasay City, although it was a tad bit lower than the highest ever recoded index, it’s still scorching at 45.1 degrees Celsius.

This is based on the forecast revealed by PAGASA.

Other nearby areas also suffered extremely high heat indices. Specifically:

Port Area in Manila experienced an index of 42.8 degress Celsius and Science Garden in Quezon City experienced 41 degrees Celsius.

Metro Manila is also expected to have a hot and humid climate in the morning, however, rainfall and thunderstorms could be expected in the afternoon.

This Monday, the heat indices in some areas,

Specifically, in Tuguegarao could reach up to 42 degrees Celsius. While Cabanatuan City in Nueva Ecija, Calapan City in Oriental Mindoro, and Legazpi City in Albay could experience the heat index reach up to 41 degrees Celsius.

In Cebu City, Catbalogan City in Samar, and Cotabato City, the forecast shows that the heat index in these areas could rise to 40 degrees Celsius.

Northern and Central Luzon, a few areas in Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Western and Central Visayas, Northern Mindanao, BARMM, Zamboanga Peninsula, and Soccsksargen could also experience rain showers in the next coming hours.

An announcement was made by DOH in the past to take caution during these extremely hot temperatures.
