Supporters of Robert Eusebio demanded a manual recount while the proclamation of Vico Sotto was happening
Supporters of incumbent Pasig City Mayor Robert Eusebio gathered in front of the City Hall while the proclamation of incoming Mayor Vico Sotto was happening.
It can be recalled that the son of Vic Sotto and Coney Reyes, along with his supporters waited in the City Hall for the proclamation starting 2 AM on May 14.
Based on a previous report, the young politician was asking the Commission on Election (COMELEC) what was the cause of the delay.
However, he did not get any answer from the Board of Canvassers which dismayed him.
Vico was still waiting until 9 AM, according to his Twitter post. Then, he had to wait a little longer when the Pasig City Board of Canvassers declared a recess until 1 PM.
After long hours of waiting, Vico Sotto finally was proclaimed. On the other hand, the supporters of his opponent are still hoping a different result.
Eusebio’s supporters demanded a manual recount of votes, based on the report from Manila Bulletin. They were carrying posters with “MANUAL VOTE COUNT” written on them.
Netizens have various reaction regarding this matter.
Facebook user Vinz Escanilla said, “Hahahah Magising n po kayo walang dayaan sa Pasig …. lets support our new Mayor Vico Sotto”.
Several others expressed the same thought that there was no “dayaan” that happened in Pasig City.
There are some netizens who accepted that Vico is now the Mayor of Pasig and they will just wait to what he can do for the city.
Here are some of the comments.
