“Ako po’y 27 taon nang senador, 1992 pa ako nahalal. I have been with the best and the brightest. And one thing I can assure you, the line up of reelectionists in the Senate today is the reason why the Philippine Senate now has reached the highest-ever trust and approval ratings the country has ever had from 1987 to the present,” he said, based on the report from Manila Bulletin.

He added that the reason why he is endorsing the 7 reelectionist is “because of the diligence, the hardworking, the transparency of the work of the Senate, and the sincerity of the work of its members.”

Here are the “Tough 10” senatorial candidates of Tito Sotto:

  • Senators Paolo “Bam” Aquino IV
  • Juan Edgardo “Sonny” Angara
  • Nancy Binay
  • Joseph Victor Ejercito
  • Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III
  • Grace Poe
  • Cynthia Villar
  • Lito Lapid
  • Pia Cayetano
  • Christopher “Bong” Go

When it comes to supporting former Special Assistant to the President Bong Go, the Senate President said that they have been friends since 1997.

Sotto has expressed his willingness to support Go even before he decided to run.

The Senator said that he does not entertain allegations when asked about the accusation against Go regarding the controversial The Real Narcolist video.

He also said that the video is just a black propaganda against the current administration.

“Alam ko ‘yung hubog [niya]…It doesn’t matter if he’s associated with the present administration, we will always remain independent in the Senate,” Tito Sotto said, based on the report.
