Duterte’s administration, however, did not make an action regarding those allegations.
Lots of regular Filipinos have already protested about the alleged ‘harassment’ on the poor Filipino fishermen.
The people are hopefully waiting on the peace on the South China Sea without having to declare for war.
Based on a report from Philstar, the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) National Director Eduardo
“Refrain muna natin na pumunta doon, for the meantime, and concentrate on our municipal waters kasi ‘yun nga ang pinangingisdaan natin.”
The government agency said they should avoid fishing near the Scarborough Shoal for the meantime.
“Just be careful at may mga dapat tayong pang-ilagan for the meantime,” said Gongona.
According to the report, the statement of BFAR came after the viral video of Zambales’ fishermen and Chinese alleged clash. The video was released by the senatorial candidate Neri Colmenares.
Malacañang spokesperson Salvador Panelo said the Philippines will surely protest on the allegations if it is proven.
Based on the report, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) North Luzon Command said they did not receive any reports that there are fishermen being harassed by the Chinese military.
After the visit of President Rodrigo Duterte in Beijing last 2016, he stated fishermen were now allowed to return fishing on Scarborough Shoal.
Both the Philippines and the Republic of China claim the ownership of the West Philippine Sea.
