Senate Probe on Increasing Number of Politician Deaths in PH Opened
SENATE – The House of Senate lodged a probe on the alarming increasing number of politician deaths in the Philippines (PH).
Undeniably, there were several politicians who recently passed away – few months before the 2019 midterm election.
Although investigations have yet to name politics as really the reason behind, the possibility that what happened to them is work-related cannot be avoided. Thorough investigations must really be implemented.
Among the politicians who recently passed away months before the 2019 election are AKO Bicol Party-list Representative Rodel Batocabe and Quezon City Barangay Chairman Criselle Beltran.
The investigations on the case of the deaths of the two politicians
Baldo is the incumbent mayor of Daraga. Batocabe was also set to run for the mayoral post. On his part, the Daraga Mayor denied the allegations.
On January 30, 2019, Criselle Beltran, a barangay chairman of Quezon City, was attacked together with her driver. Both of them did not survive the incident.
The attention of the Senate was caught the alarming increasing number of politician deaths in PH. Based on a recent report on ABS-CBN News, the law-making body is lodging a probe on the matter.
According to the report, the committee which aims to investigate the attacks against government officials is led by Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson. The lawmaker has tagged the significant increase
