Firearm Found in the “Slay” of Rep. Batocabe Found in Albay
BATOCABE – The firearm used in the “slay” of AKO Bicol Party-list Representative Rodel Batocabe was found in Albay.
One of the yet to be resolved death cases involving a politician is the case of the late AKO Bicol Party-list Rep. Rodel Batocabe. He and his bodyguards were attacked by at least six suspects in December 2018.
The late AKO Bicol Party-list Representative was in his hometown in Daraga for a gift-giving when they were attacked by the suspects. It led to the death of the politician.
According to the Philippine National Police, the findings of the investigation led to Daraga Mayor Carlwyn Baldo appears as the alleged mastermind of the incident.
The late AKO Bicol Party-list Representative will supposedly seek for a mayoral post in Daraga in the 2019 Midterm Elections while Baldo is seeking for re-election.
On his part, the Daraga mayor put down the accusations. Two suspects of the case have surrendered to the authorities.
Based on a recent report on ABS-CBN News, the firearm used in the “slay” of AKO Bicol Party-list Rep. Rodel Batocabe was already found by the police. It was found in a fish pond in Albay.
According to Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Director Chief Superintendent Amador Corpus, the firearm was found in Purok
3, Barangay Busay, Ligao City.
