Here’s the Batocabe slay suspects’ statement against alleged mastermind Mayor Carlwyn Baldo
The Batocabe slay suspects who surrendered to the police released a statement against alleged mastermind Daraga Mayor Carlwyn Baldo.
AKO Bicol Party-list Representative Rodel Batocabe was killed on December 22,
Investigation of Philippine National Police (PNP) pointed to Mayor Baldo as the alleged mastermind of the crime.
Batocabe is set to run against him as a Mayor of Daraga this coming 2019 midterm elections.
When suspect Henry Yuson surrendered, another suspect also turned to the police, Emmanuel Rosello.
Suspect-turned-witness Emmanuel Bonita Judavar pointed Baldo as the mastermind of the assassination.
Based on the report from Pang-Masa, the Daraga Mayor allegedly promised to pay P5 million to 7 hired killers.
Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Eduardo Año saw the situation that Baldo was apprehensive to withdraw the P5 million to pay the hired killers led to the revelation of Judavar.
He also said that the Mayor might felt fear that he would face the investigation of Anti Money Laundering Council.
“Kasi P5 million ang kontrata pero sinabi raw nung Mayor kung ako ang magwi-withdraw sa bangko kaagad mahahalata ako kung magkakaroon ng investigation yung AMLC kaya hindi siya nagbayad pa. Yung sa mga involved ang term nila onsehan na yun, parang nagkalimutan na”, Año said.
DILG has already filed administrative cases against Baldo aside from the criminal cases filed by the PNP.
Based on the report, the Mayor’s police security escorts will be canceled and he will no longer have the power over the Daraga Municipal Police Station.
Meanwhile, a report from Abante stated that Henry Yuson was the main gunman in Batocabe slay who fired the 40 caliber pistol to the Congressman.
