Thousand of Devotees Expected To Flock To Manila for the Feast of Black Nazarene

BLACK NAZARENE 2019 – Thousand of Catholic devotees were expected to flock to Manila to celebrate the feast of the Black Nazarene.

The Feast of the Black Nazarene is approaching. Millions of devotees are expected to participate in the holy procession. The life-sized statue will travel a 6km distance from Rizal Park to the Basilica in Quiapo.

Famous Filipino celebrities like Angeline Quinto, Coco Martin, and Noli de Castro were on of the million devotees.

When Coco Martin was a child, he tag along with his grandmother in going to the church in Quiapo.

The actor is one of the devotees who’s petition was granted. He is will always be one of the many believers of the “Poong Nazareno”.

Black Nazarene statue is placed above the altar in Quiapo Church. After the New Year ’s Day, the people at the church conducted a novena until the January 9 feast.

The feast draws a lot of crowds just to see and touch the statue. Some devotees join the procession until they reach the church.

The annual procession of the Black Nazarene usually took 18 to 22 hours to finish.

Following a previous article, the street vendors near Quiapo church are now selling the Black Nazarene’s relics. Filipino devotees are fond of buying and collecting small relics of the Black Nazarene.

On the Twitter account of Philippine Star, they shared wonderful photos of rosaries, colorful candles that were displayed in Quiapo church.

The candles were very well placed on their boxes while the rosaries are hanged up on their stalls.

In the caption of the post, the Philippine Star estimated that there will be thousands of Catholic devotee who will attend the feast day in Manila.
