EARTHQUAKES 2018 – Here is a list of strong quakes that hit parts of the Philippines this year 2018.

The Philippines’ location is the reason why it is prone to quakes, typhoons, volcanic eruptions, and other natural calamities. The country lies along the Pacific Ring of Fire.

Almost every day, several quakes are happening in the different parts of PH that is why it is really necessary for the people to be aware about what to do in case a quake hits.

When it comes to updates about the earthquakes, it is the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) that releases it to the public.

On its bulletin, Phivolcs states the date and time that the quake occurred and its location, depth of focus, origin, and magnitude. It also states whether there is an expected damage caused by the quake or not.

Furthermore, in a Phivolcs bulletin, it is stated whether there is expected aftershocks or none. It is also the institute that releases an advisory regarding tsunamis which usually follow a strong quake.
