Phivolcs Confirms Part of Batangas Recently Hit By Earthquake

EARTHQUAKE – The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) confirmed that a 5.5 magnitude quake has shaken Nasugbu, Batangas today, July 3, 2018.

Recently, some people in Quezon City felt the shaking of the ground. Based on a report on Summit Express, the Phivolcs recorded that the quake occurred at 12:25:55 in the afternoon.

The quake’s epicenter was located 14.04°N, 120.40°E – 025 km S 80° W of Nasugbu. It has a tectonic origin and the depth of focus is at 123 km. Intensity III was felt in Quezon City and there were also netizens in other parts of Metro Manila who claimed that they felt the shaking.

According to the report, the Phivolcs has already given a warning that there might be an aftershock.
