ANG PROBINSYANO VERSUS PNP – The lead actor of the series FPJAP Coco Martin meeting with PNP and DILG finally ironed out the issue.

The top-rating Kapamilya show FPJAP is top-billed by Coco Martin playing the famous role “SPO2 Ricardo Dalisay“. However, Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Oscar Albayalde reacted to the police corruption included in the series.

Thus, the lead actor Coco Martin apologized in an Instagram post if, in any way, the show has offended the police officials and the ABS-CBN network also released an official statement regarding the matter clarifying that the show is just fictional.

Moreover, the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) has considered filing a case against the series as DILG Secretary Eduardo Año was also dismayed by the portrayed roles and image of PNP in the show.

This issue prompted for the DILG and the producers of top rating teleserye to hold a meeting. Coco Martin along with ABS-CBN executive went to the National Headquarters of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Quezon City.

This is in hope to fix and iron out the issues and indeed, there are no kinks that can be ironed out through a peaceful talk.

“Sana sa pagpunta namin ngayon ay magkadayalogo, makapag-usap na kasi ang hangarin naman nating lahat ay maging maayos ang buong sambayanan at magkaisa,” Coco said based on a report from Inquirer.

PNP Spokesperson Benigno Durana Jr. said that the actor will also have a meeting with Albayalde on Monday and more talks will come between the two parties about the issue.

Durana also told in a text message, “We believe this collaboration should be beneficial not only to both parties but to the wider public as well.”
