President Duterte Urges The People To Vote For Mar Roxas

MAR ROXAS – President Rodrigo Duterte is now telling people to vote former Interior Secretary Mar Roxas after years of volatile altercation since 2016.

This occurred during the event in Boracay Thursday evening, where he also said that he will decline the renewal of the ABS-CBN franchise. According to the previous article, He noted some points which led him to make this decision, even calling ABS-CBN chairman Eugenio “Gabby” Lopez III, a “thief” and a “swindler”.

In a speech regarding Roxas, Duterte said to vote Mar, pointing out that he is an Ilonggo and has no problem.

A report in CNN says that in 2015, Duterte want to slap Roxas, which in his time was the Interior Secretary for the government’s slow response to Typhoon Yolanda. In response, Mar said that he would slap the former Davao mayor back. This escalated to a word war.

Duterte mentioned Roxas while slamming former Philippine National Police (PNP) deputy director general Marcelo Garbo, Jr. He says he doe not know where he is and that he was the police senior aide of Mar Roxas. He also pointed out that Garbo is allegedly handling drugs in Visayas.

“Itong si Garbo, I don’t know where he is, that ***. You know Garbo was the police aide, senior aide of Roxas,” “Pero Garbo na ‘yan, naghawak ng droga sa Visayas. Iyon ang police makita mo palagi sa tabi ni Roxas doon.”

As per the report, in 2016, Garbo was one of the five police generals named by Duterte who allegedly involved in the illegal drug trade. The latter, however, denied Duterte’s claims.
