Sen. Trillanes’ Claim that His House is Under Surveillance Earned Reaction from Malacañang
Malacañang reacted to the claim of Senator Antonio Trillanes IV that his house is under surveillance.
Amid the issue regarding the validity of his amnesty, Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV is staying under the custody of the Senate. According to Malacañang, the Senator failed to meet the minimum requirements for amnesty.
The Duterte Proclamation 572 recently revoked the amnesty granted by former President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III to the former Navy lieutenant.
Two Makati Regional Trial Court branches did not release warrants of arrest against Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV. Malacañang has previously stressed that Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte wants to abide by the law and waits for the Supreme Court’s decision.
The Supreme Court denied the plea of Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV for a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) versus the presidential proclamation.
The Senator is firm that no evidence can be found against him. He also emphasized that he will not resist arrest nor escape.
Previously, Sen. Trillanes expressed that he will try to get out from the Senate. However, his mind changed after two men riding in a motorcycle allegedly tailed Sen. Tr car when his staff went out.
Based on a recent report on ABS-CBN News, Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV also claimed that his house is under surveillance by some men. His claim sparked a reaction from Malacañang.
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque tagged Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV claim as “paranoia”.
“First, it’s drama, now it appears to be paranoia,” he said.
Based on the report, Roque also stressed that it is clear that Pres. Duterte has let the Makati RTC branches and the Supreme Court handle the case.
Previously, Pres. Duterte expressed that he is not interested in sending Sen. Trillanes back to jail. For his part, the Senator said that he is not afraid of the former.
